Delivering Farm Fresh Sod to Your Family Since 1974
Benefits of Sod
1. A sod lawn produces an “instant lawn”. The most popular benefit to sodding is the fact that there is no lingering wait to be able to enjoy a gorgeous green yard. When you sod, you are getting a huge head-start to be able to use your lawn for regular activities like playing or entertaining. A seed or sprigged yard takes a significant amount of time to grow in (typically 18 months), leaving your yard looking bare and unattractive. Sodding is usually ready for heavy activity after two weeks, allowing it to be a fast lawn- planting option that adds immediate beauty to your home’s outdoor space.
2. Once installed, sod requires less irrigation. Newly planted sod should typically be watered twice a day for the first couple of weeks. Seeding a lawn can require up to four or more waterings per day to maintain the ground with the necessary moisture required for proper seed germination. This can be costly and time-consuming.
3. Sod makes for a denser lawn. When sodding, pieces are fit tightly together to get a lush, even lawn. There are no bare spots in a sodded yard that would require extra work, like reseeding for example.
4. Sod prevents soil erosion. Upon sod installation, because it is already fully mature, sod controls dust, mud, and erosion. Sodded turfgrass is a quick and excellent filter of dirt and dust from your home.

🌱 THE SOD FATHER
Sod Purchase Policy, Care Guide & Customer Information
IMPORTANT SOD PURCHASE INFORMATION
Sod is a living, perishable product and is non-refundable, non-warrantied, and non-guaranteed.
The Sod Father has proudly purchased sod from our long-time supplier, Duda, for over 40 years. Duda does not offer any warranty or guarantee on sod, and The Sod Father does not extend or imply any warranty.
Sod is professionally grown, maintained, and harvested at the sod farm; however, because it is a living product, natural variations may occur. Sod may not always arrive perfectly stacked or uniformly cut on the pallet. This is normal and does not affect the sod’s ability to root and grow.
When the installation area is properly prepared and the sod is cared for according to the requirements of the specific variety purchased, the sod will establish and fill in over time. In some cases, installation may take longer due to natural variations.
By purchasing sod, customers acknowledge and accept these conditions.
SOD TERMS & CONDITIONS
All sod products sold by The Sod Father are non-refundable, non-warrantied, and non-guaranteed. Sod is a living agricultural product and subject to natural variations including, but not limited to, appearance, thickness, moisture content, pallet stacking, and cutting consistency.
Duda does not provide a warranty or guarantee on sod, and The Sod Father makes no warranty, express or implied. Environmental conditions such as weather, soil type, irrigation, installation practices, timing, and ongoing maintenance are beyond the control of both the supplier and seller and directly affect sod performance.
Minor imperfections do not constitute defective product. Proper installation and care are the responsibility of the purchaser.
Purchase of sod constitutes acceptance of these terms.
